Apple Pie French Toast Recipe
Serves 5
French Toast Ingredients
- 2 Scoops Ghost Nutter Butter Protein powder
- 10 slices whole grain bread
- 1 cup almond milk
- 5 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon brown Swerve
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Apple Pie Filling
- 5 apples
- 1 Tablespoon whole wheat flour
- 1 Tablespoon brown Swerve
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon softened butter
Topping
- Enlightened caramel syrup or Walden Farms maple syrup, optional
- Powdered Swerve, optional
- Whipped topping, optional
Directions
- Peel and core apples, chop into small pieces.
- Mix butter, brown sugar Swerve, and cinnamon together in a non-stick pot. Add apples, stir and cover.
- Cook on Medium-low heat until apples are soft, approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While apples cook, mix together protein powder, almond milk, eggs, brown swerve and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Dip each piece of bread into batter, coating both sides. Put aside.
- Spray non-stick pan with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat.
- Cook bread slices, 1-2 at a time, flipping when brown.
- Assemble 2 slices of toast with 1/5th of apple mixture. If desired drizzle Enlightened caramel syrup or Walden Farms maple syrup, and top with whipped topping.
